Jude 1:3
Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it
necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all
delivered to the saints.
Contend – to endeavour with strenuous zeal, strive: to obtain something, to enter a contest:
contend in the gymnastic games.to contend with adversaries, fight.

2 Peter 3:1-2
1 Beloved, I now write to you this second epistle (in both of which I stir up your pure minds by
way of reminder),
2 that you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of
the commandment of us, the apostles of the Lord and Savior,
Mindful – to return to one's mind, to remind one's self of, to remember.

Ephesians 6:20
for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
Ambassador – act as a representative of Gods Kingdom.

2 Corinthians 5:20
Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore
you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Christ represented God on earth, we represent Christ now on earth.
Christ was the bridge to reconciliation with God, we are now the bridge for reconciliation to
Christ.

Contend – to endeavour with strenuous zeal, strive: to obtain something, to enter a contest: contend in the gymnastic games.to contend with adversaries, fight.

Jude 1:4-6 (NLT)
4 I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives. The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.
5 So I want to remind you, though you already know these things, that Jesus first rescued the nation of Israel from Egypt, but later he destroyed those who did not remain faithful.
6 And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment.

“Wormed their way into the church” – unnoticed, wolves in sheep’s clothing.

Check your self before you reck your self.

“Belonged” – proper domain, habitation, living by the Spirit.

It’s not how you start the race, its how you finish!

2 Peter 3:3-4
3 knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts,
4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of creation.”

Christ coming back is what’s happening now, not the pass.

Focusing on the pass could be frustrating, focusing on Jesus brings Hope and Security of mind and heart.

Jude 1:3

Mark 8:14-16
14 Now the disciples had forgotten to take bread, and they did not have more than one loaf with them in the boat.
15 Then He charged them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.”
16 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, “It is because we have no bread.”

Leaven – in the ancient world a little dough from the old lump will make the new dough rise and puff. Jesus was talking about sin and pride.

Mark 8:17-21
17 But Jesus, being aware of it, said to them, “Why do you reason because you have no bread? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Is your heart still hardened?
18 “Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
19 “When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They said to Him, “Twelve.”
20 “Also, when I broke the seven for the four thousand, how many large baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”
21 So He said to them, “How is it you do not understand?”

Your circumstance can make you forget the great things you saw God do in the pass.

But now barely having nothing, they forget Jesus could work with that.

Maybe its time to make some new sticky note reminders.

Revelation 3:3 “Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

When Jesus says remember, it means don’t forget for your sake, it could cost you.

When we hold fast to Jesus we are safe.

Matthew 25;1-13
1 “Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out
to meet the bridegroom.
2 “Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 “Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them,
4 “but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

7 “Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps.
8 “And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
9 “But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go
rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’
Somebody from the outside wakes you up, do not hit the snooze button.
Slumber and slept – when your flesh gets tired, if not careful it will effect you Spiritually.
Trimmed their lamps – get your house in order.
Oil lights when it is burned in a lamp — where the Spirit of God is, there is light. And vice a

10 “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with
him to the wedding; and the door was shut.
11 “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’
12 “But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’
13 “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is
coming.
Three stages to a Jewish wedding, The first was engagement — a formal agreement made by
the fathers. The second was betrothal — the ceremony where mutual promises are made. The
third was marriage — approximately one year later when the bridegroom came at an
unexpected time for his bride.
