Luke 24:28-32 (NLT)
28 By this time they were nearing Emmaus and the end of their journey. Jesus acted as if he
were going on,
29 but they begged him, “Stay the night with us, since it is getting late.” So he went home with
them.
30 As they sat down to eat, he took the bread and blessed it. Then he broke it and gave it to
them.
31 Suddenly, their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And at that moment he
disappeared!
32 They said to each other, “Didn’t our hearts burn within us as he talked with us on the road
and explained the Scriptures to us?”
What is the purpose of a sleepover?
They did not know it was Jesus until He broke bread with them.
Where are the burning hearts today in the church?
John 20:15-16
15 Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” She, supposing
Him to be the gardener, said to Him, “Sir, if You have carried Him away, tell me where You have
laid Him, and I will take Him away.”
16 Jesus said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
Some times is hard to find Jesus, yet He is there when we don’t see or feel Him there.
Mary’s past did not disqualified her from being the first to see Jesus resurrected.
Where is my Jesus? He reveals Himself to those who seek from the heart.
John 20:17-18
17 Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to
My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and
your God.’ ”
18 Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that He had
spoken these things to her.
My brothers – My family even when they turn their backs on Me.
My Father is now also your Father, we have an inheritance in God because of Jesus.
Go and tell others what you have seen and heard personally.

Ephesians 1:18-23 (NLT)
18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident
hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.
19 I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who
believe him. This is the same mighty power
20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in
the heavenly realms.
21 Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in
this world but also in the world to come.
22 God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things
for the benefit of the church.
23 And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things
everywhere with himself.
Pray that you would understand more and have confidence in His promises.
How powerful is your God?
There is nothing too dead that cannot be resurrected.
We are dangerous to the enemy when we become his body and Jesus becomes our Head.

and increasing in the knowledge of God;
The knowledge of God must be a deeper understanding of His heart, His ways and His
presence in our daily lives.
2 Peter 1:2-4
2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the
knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue,
4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these
you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world
through lust.
Go beyond your salvation/grace.
God has given you everything you need.
You would never have the full understanding of who you are, until you understand who He is!
Everything means you no longer have to live on leftovers.
If His mercy’s are new every morning, so is His provision.
The source of our strength and transformation comes through knowing thru an intimate
relationship with our Lord. Not just intellectual.
1 Peter 2:9,10
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people,
that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous
light;
10 who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but
now have obtained mercy.
Chosen – pick out/handpicked with intention and love.
Royal -prince, leader of people/a child of the King who is to lead with honor.
Priesthood – Christians are called, because they have access to God/we are privileged to be
able to intercede worship and walk with God.
Holy nation – consecrated, the separate ones/set a part to reflect his purpose on this earth.
Special people – purchased possession, we belong to God/we are a treasure and most valuable
possession God has on earth.
We were once without identity, but now we are part of God‘s family. We once knew no mercy but
now we are covered in it.
We are not an accident, but are designed with a purpose.
Colossians 1:10
10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work
and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Walking worthy of the Lord is a heart posture seeking His approval above the world’s.
Our good works are the overflow of a heart transformed by grace.
The knowledge of God must be a deeper understanding of His heart, His ways and His
presence in our daily lives.

God has prepared you, for you to be able to fulfill His calling.
The power is your faith in the Blood of Jesus.

Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and

Those who live in darkness are spiritually asleep.
When you are sleeping you are 1) ignorance 2) insensitive 3) no defense 4) and inactive.
Romans 13:11-14
11 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our
salvation is nearer than when we first believed.
12 The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness, and
let us put on the armor of light.
13 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust,
not in strife and envy.
14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.
Everyday we get one step closer to the coming of the Lord.
We need to be intentional in cast off darkness and putting on His light the Holy Spirit.
You can’t put on what you don’t know or understand.
Proverbs 4;18
But the path of the just is like the shining sun,That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day.
The Holy Spirit in us gives light to our walk.
The further we walk in His path, the brighter it gets.

Mark 15:17-19
17 And they clothed Him with purple; and they twisted a crown of thorns, put it on His head,
18 and began to salute Him, “Hail, King of the Jews!”
19 Then they struck Him on the head with a reed and spat on Him; and bowing the knee, they
worshiped Him.
Jesus suffered as a King so that we don’t have too.
His pain became our gain!
1 Thessalonians 5:5-8
5 You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as others do, but let us watch and be sober.
7 For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.
8 But let us who are of the day be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a
helmet the hope of salvation.
The knowledge of your salvation must go beyond an experience.
Sons of Light – are looking for the return of Christ, they let their light shine wherever they go.

From the crawling caterpillar to the flying butterfly.
Do you understand the new you?
Hebrews 5:12-14
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the
first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.
13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a
babe.
14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have
their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
An adult sucking a pacifier don’t look good.
You age doesn’t determine your maturity level.
Every muscle in you has to exercise to grow healthy.
1 Corinthians 15:45,49
45 And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a
life-giving spirit.
49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the
heavenly Man.
To be born-again, means to learn everything new in the Spirit.
Learning the transitioning process from flesh to Spirit.

God wants to transform all three parts completely.
1 Corinthians 15:49.

We all resemble the human race (Adam) but not all choose to resemble the heavenly race
(Jesus).
Changes don’t come on its own, we must be intentional.

all things have become new.
If the enemy can’t convince you out of your salvation, he will try to compromise your Walk.
Do you walk in the Spirit or Flesh/Spirit?

transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
Transformation is a process in our walk with the Lord.

49 And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the
heavenly Man.
We all resemble the human race (Adam) but not all choose to resemble the heavenly race

By human nature is easy to carry the image of Adam but our heavenly nature we have to learn.
1 Corinthians 2:10-14
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes,
the deep things of God.
11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even
so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we
might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy
Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness
to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Only the Holy Spirit could reveal God’s plan for your life.
The Spirit desires are to make you aware of everything God has freely given to you.
There is nothing that God does not want you to know, but there are some things that you’re not
mature to understand now.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Your soul realm is your mind, will and EMOTIONS.
John 11:35-38
35 Jesus wept.
36 Then the Jews said, “See how He loved him!”
37 And some of them said, “Could not this Man, who opened the eyes of the blind, also have
kept this man from dying?” Lazarus Raised from the Dead
38 Then Jesus, again groaning in Himself, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone lay
against it.
Shortest Bible verse but pack with power from the heart of God.
Jesus cares about what we go thru.
Tears are just as important as miracles that are needed.
Emotional tears bring healing to the soul.
Hebrews 4:15-16
15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in
all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace
to help in time of need.
We all have weaknesses.
Tho Christ was sinless we are not.
Go Boldly to the Throne of Grace knowing He is waiting for us to forgive.
His mercy are new every morning.
God is looking to help in our time of need because He knows how we feel.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Your soul realm is your mind, will and EMOTIONS.
Luke 22:42-44
42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but
Yours, be done.”
43 Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.
44 And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of
blood falling down to the ground.
His body, soul and spirit was in great agony.
This was a total surrender to the Father‘s will.
In your worst trials, God is there to strengthen you.
Can you pray beyond your sweat?
Psalms 43:5
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul?
And why are you disquieted within me?
Hope in God;
For I shall yet praise Him,
The help of my countenance and my God.
Sometimes you need to ask yourself why you feel what you feel.
Regardless of the answer, recognize where your hope comes from.
We need to praise the One who could deliver us!
Our feelings need to line up to Gods truth!

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Your soul realm is your mind, WILL and emotions.
Matthew 26:41-42
41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is
weak.”
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot
pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
Watch – be on the look out!.
The Holy Spirit could see what our flesh can’t see.
Why did Jesus spend many times alone in prayers?
Colossians 1:9-10
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask
that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work
and increasing in the knowledge of God;
The apostles learned from Jesus the value of praying for self and others.
Knowledge of His will, for your life, increases your wisdom and your spiritual understanding.
A fruit bearing tree is dependent on the health and conditions of its roots.
Be Transformed by the renewing of ………… 7
1 Peter 2:1-3
1 Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking,
2 as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby,
3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
Your soul needs to be transform on a daily basis.
Gods Word changes your will to be His will.
Spiritual knowledge and understanding creates spiritual desires.
John 6:38
For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.
Look at your actions, whose will are you doing?
Our very own nature fights us to do the will of God, its a battle that can be won.
The Holy Spirit in us fights for us to draw us closer to do God’s will.
Matthew 26:40-42
39 He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible,
let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
40 Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What? Could
you not watch with Me one hour?
41 “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is
weak.”
42 Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if this cup cannot
pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
Jesus is the ultimate example in how to do the will of the Father.
Dying to the flesh is not easy but its possible.
Watch – be on the look out!
Praying is having communion and fellowship with God.
Trusting in God’s ways
Bible Verses:
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
Mathew 6:34 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,”

“I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is righteous, because I do not

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does
the will of My Father in heaven.
Will – of what God wishes to be done by us, choice, desire, pleasure.
We should also as Jesus did, do the WILL of God.
Our will needs to be transform to His will.
Romans 7:18
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but
how to perform what is good I do not find.
If we could’ve done it in the flesh, we needed not to have been saved.
Transformation could only come through the Spirit of God.

Some people are not going to understand your salvation.
Their blindness keeps them in darkness.
We need to pray that God will remove that blindness.
2 Corinthians 4:6
6 For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
The seed we plant in peoples heart increases they’re knowledge of God.
We need Gods light (Holy Spirit) to shine light in the darkened corners of our minds.
Proverbs 19:2a
2 Also, [that] the soul [be] without knowledge, [it is] not good;
If you don’t know the word of God, you don’t have knowledge from God, just emotions.
Hosea 6:6
6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Doing doesn’t create knowledge But knowing and understanding does.
A renew mind gives directions for a transform life.

5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Casting down arguments – imaginations, reasoning, decisions, knowledge, thoughts.
We walk here on earth in our body and soul but our spirit man fights in heavenly realms.
It’s difficult to fight a heavenly realm if we are living a disobedient life in our body and soul.
Strongholds are high walls in our lives that was constructed one brick at a time in our mind.
Obedience to the word of God Becomes a demolition wrecking-ball against strongholds.
Romans 8:6-9
6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be.
8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 ¶ But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.
Our carnal mind has to change by being obedient to the word of God.
To become spiritually minded, we must choose to learn the word and be led by the Holy Spirit.
The more we practice, choosing God‘s word over us the less the flesh can control you.
Acknowledge and understand that only a Spirit led life could please God.
We must also acknowledge and understand that a continuation of pleasing our flesh, is indirectly pleasing the devil.
The power of life and death is in our tongue that speaks our mind.
Be Transformed by the Renewing of….. 3
Romans 12:22 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Your soul realm is your mind, will and emotions.
1 Peter 1:13-14
13 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
Double minded – divided in interest, wavering between God and the world. What you are struggling with is your flesh has had control of you before you got saved. The Holy Spirit convicting you to see The damage your flesh has caused you, now you have to choose.Ignorance – of moral blindness, lack of knowledge of divine things, in the flesh. When Grace comes into your life, your eyes are open, what you did not know now is revealed.
Knowledge is power for your soul, body and spirit.As obedient children – we are now sons and daughters of God who will desire as a baby desires their parents to feed them, take care of them, love them, instruct them etc.Not conforming/Former lusts – you no longer can accept the status quo, former means your pass needs not to be your future.Galatians 5:16-17
16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.
Our struggles could only lessen as we grow spiritually.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.
4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,

6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.
Know who you are fighting.

Romans 12:2
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that
you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Transformed – to change into another form, to transform, to transfigure,
Christ appearance was changed and was resplendent with divine brightness on the mount of
transfiguration.
So where does our transformation start?
Romans 8:5
5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those
who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.
Learning the Word of God changes the way you think so that your life can change.
A life change by the Spirit comes from a mind led by the Spirit.
1 Peter 1:13-14

Gird up – buckle up your belt,
loins – the hip, fruit of the loins, offspring, procreative power,
Mind – the mind as a faculty of understanding, feeling, desiring, Spirit or flesh.
The seeds that grow in your mind will produce a good or evil offspring.
Our mind does not have the capability of two thoughts at the same time so choose wisely!
Sober – Keep your thoughts together, don’t let your mind run rampant.
Double minded – divided in interest, wavering between God and the world.
Ignorance – of moral blindness, lack of knowledge of divine things, in the flesh.
Because you got filled with the Holy Spirit you now have a choice.
